September - big and exciting stuff!

August 13th, 2009 · No Comments

Well, hopefully I got your attention with the title. In September, we will be cleaning a stretch of Highway 2 (or the QE2 for you newfangled folks) just north of the Nisku overpass. In return, the province gives us a sign on that section of road. This is a busy stretch of road and a great place to have our name.

Tuesday, September 1, 7 - 9 pm: General Meeting - everyone is welcome
Room #7, 6th Floor, Stanley A. Milner Library
7 Sir Winston Churchill Square
Ask the nice security guards to let you up to 6th floor.

Sunday, September 13, Time TBA: Road Cleanup - please RSVP (but don’t let us stop you if you didn’t)
QE2, north of the Nisku overpass. Check out the Facebook event, or email info@edmontonatheists.ca for more details, including carpooling plans. We need at least 9 people.

Monday, September 14, 7:30-9pm: On Topic #3 - everyone is welcome
Accent European Lounge, 8223 104 Street NW

The SEA, in association with CFI Alberta, and the UAAA is hosting a monthly On Topic series will delve into discussions revolving around science, reason, and secular issues. This month the topic is chosen by the SEA and will be the “nature of moderate religious belief in contrast to fundamentalism.” This an informal atmosphere, and there will be plenty of time for questions, conversation, and debate.

This event will be hosted at Accent European Lounge, which will be privately opened for our event. A full service coffee bar and lounge bar are available (but the kitchen will be closed.)

TBA - Blood drive
We will also have another blood drive in September, date TBA.
