The blood drive in May was a great success. We had at least 15 people who donated on that day because of the SEA and a few more that probably did but didn’t tell us.
Membership Cards: Now that we have a good logo, we’ve created membership cards. If you would like to vote on issues for the society or get a card that says you’re a member in good standing, bring your $10 membership fee to any event or meeting and ask for a board member.
T-shirts: Although we won’t have them for the parade, we are in the process of getting t-shirts. Anyone is welcome to purchase one. The front will have our logo, and the back will read, “Atheism is a non-prophet organization.”
For the upcoming events:
Saturday, June 13, 2 pm - evening: We have a booth at the Gay Pride Parade again this year and will be marching in the parade. The booth will be at 102Ave, in front of the Stanley Milner Library from 2:30-7pm. We’re sharing it with the other atheist/skeptic groups in Edmonton, so come out and meet the UAAA and CFI Edmonton as well.
If you would like to join us in the parade, our theme is pirates (optional) and we will be marshalling at 108 St, just south of Jasper Ave at 1pm. Look for the banner (or pirates). If you would like to help out at the booth, please contact the SEA and let us know.
Saturday, June 20, 4 pm - evening: Come join us for our Summer Solstice Potluck and BBQ. Everyone is welcome. Please fill in whatever you are briging on this spreadsheet to avoid too many duplicates (but don’t let duplicates stop you…especially when they’re yummy).
Windsor Park Plaza, 11135-83 Avenue
You will need to take the outdoor stairwell off 83 Ave., which is the north side of the building. This will take you to the mezzanine, which is where we’ll be assembling.
Tuesday, July 7, 7 - 9 pm: We’ve decided to have a person speak on something they’re interested in at each meeting. For July, we’ve had a member of the 7th Day Adventist Church offer to give a talk on biblical prophecy. Should be interesting.
Room #7, 6th Floor, Stanley A. Milner Library
7 Sir Winston Churchill Square
Ask the nice security guards to let you up to 6th floor.
